About Mike

My career in construction began in the Bay Area in the 1970s.  In the 1980s I owned and operated my own custom cabinet business specializing in kitchen and bath remodeling. I became a General Contractor in 1987 and worked primarily in the East Bay and San Francisco. As a Licensed Contractor I completed hundreds of remodeling projects and built several new custom homes in the Berkeley/Oakland area.

After extensive experience taking houses apart and putting them back together, I became a Home Inspector in 1999.  I enjoy sharing my construction and inspection experience to assist people with the home buying process.

I know what to look for while inspecting your property. I am intimately acquainted with the full range of construction related issues that may come up at your inspection. I am very aware of what is behind walls, under floors and above ceilings.  I know materials and construction and can help you get the most from a home inspection.

I have completed over 4000 inspections and am a Certified Inspector Member of The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). I am also certified by the International Code Counsel (ICC) as a Combination Dwelling Inspector. The combination part means certified to inspect Plumbing, Electrical, Mechanical and Structural components of residential dwellings.

I will bring to your inspection the eye for detail of a cabinetmaker, the experience of years in construction and the expertise of a seasoned, certified inspector.

I will take all the time we need to thoroughly explain, in an easy to understand manner, every detail of concern related to the condition of your property. I look forward to working with you!
